Advancing social equity & digital inclusion in Northeast India
The Council for Social and Digital Development (CSDD) was founded in 2020 by Dr. Syed Sultan Kazi and Dr. Monica Banerjee as an independent research, policy, and development institute. Inspired by the growing call for strong, independent think tanks in India, CSDD addresses critical challenges in sustainable social and digital development — with a focus on the unique needs of the North East region.
We are registered as a Section 8 (not-for-profit) company under the Companies Act, 2013.
Our work connects governments, communities, academia, and global networks to ensure equity, inclusion, and justiceare central to development thinking, policy, and practice.
Vision
CSDD is conceived to be a multilateral and multidisciplinary platform for developing and disseminatingresearch and policy recommendations of shared interests and prolific quality.
Mission
CSDD is an autonomous research and policy and a development and innovation institute that undertakes interdisciplinary research, action based solutions, and policy analysis on the social and digital dimensions of contemporary development issues in North East India Region and rest of India.
