The State of Assam ranks third in India in cyber-crimes against women in 2019 as per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report, released in October 2020. The Council for Social and Digital Development (CSDD) is undertaking a gender specific study of this digital grey area in Assam on why, how and what this increasing cyber-crimes against women would mean and what social, institutional, law enforcing mechanisms needs a holistic approach in addressing this increasing challenge to women safety and security online in Assam State.
